Designing Positions for Volunteers – Describes how to design work for volunteers and create position descriptions

Volunteer Recruitment – Provides strategies for effective volunteer recruitment and outreach

Interviewing Volunteers – Outlines the basic interviewing process and skills necessary to interview effectively

Volunteer Motivation – Identifies reasons why people volunteer and describes how to respond to differences in motivational needs

Supervising Volunteers – Identifies the basic skills and characteristics of good volunteer supervision

Orienting and Training Volunteers – Identifies the elements of volunteer orientation and training

Delegating to Volunteers – Identifies the procedures and techniques for delegating to volunteers

Mutual Performance Reviews – Introduces or enhances an organization’s mutual reviews of volunteer performance

Handling Volunteer Performance Problems – Identifies some of the causes of volunteer performance problems; Examines options for dealing with volunteer performance gaps and support for changed behavior

Volunteer Program Evaluation – Outlines the steps necessary to establish a volunteer program evaluation; Explores different types of volunteer program evaluation; Describes how to identify stakeholders who need evaluation results and how to communicate them

Risk Management in Volunteer Positions – Provides tips for controlling/alleviating/diminishing risk through effective volunteer position design, screening, training, and supervision

Volunteer Recognition/Retention – Describes how to recognize volunteers; Identifies strategies to increase volunteer retention
